Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 25 minutes
Total time: 45 minutes
Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
Salt and pepper to taste
1 large onion (cut into thick rings)
1 cup flour
2 eggs
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Oil for frying
6 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup cheese sauce
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp ketchup
Instructions:
1. Season ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into small patties sized to fit inside onion rings.
2. Separate onion rings and match pairs to create thick rings for stuffing.
3. Place a beef patty inside each onion ring, pressing gently to fit.
4. Dredge each stuffed ring in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs mixed with paprika and garlic powder.
5. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the rings until golden brown and cooked through (about 4–5 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
6. Stack the crispy rings, layering with shredded cheese and crumbled bacon.
7. Drizzle cheese sauce over the top while hot so it melts beautifully.
8. Mix mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup to create a quick sauce and drizzle on top.
Pro Tip:
Freeze the stuffed onion rings for 15 minutes before frying—they’ll hold their shape better and fry extra crispy!
