Golden, crunchy bites packed with creamy cheese, spicy jalapeños, and a gooey melt that stretches with every bite!
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Total time: 30 minutes
Yield: 6 servings
Ingredients:
6 fresh jalapeños, diced and seeds removed
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup cooked bacon bits
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 ½ cups breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika
Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, and bacon bits until well combined.
2. Scoop mixture into small balls (about 1–1.5 inches) and place on a tray. Freeze for 20–30 minutes to firm up.
3. Set up a breading station: flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder and paprika in a third.
4. Roll each ball in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb step for extra crispiness.
5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
6. Fry bites in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
7. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Pro Tip:
For less heat, soak the diced jalapeños in cold water for 10 minutes before mixing—this tones down the spice without losing flavor!
