🍫🥥 German Chocolate Cream Pie 🍰✨
A rich, gooey, chocolatey pie loaded with creamy filling and sweet coconut topping 😍
Ingredients:
1 pre-baked pie crust
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups milk
4 egg yolks
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add milk and cook over medium heat until thickened.
2. Lightly beat egg yolks and slowly mix in some of the hot mixture, then return everything to the saucepan. Cook for 2–3 more minutes.
3. Remove from heat and stir in butter, vanilla, coconut, and pecans.
4. Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust and let it cool.
5. Heat heavy cream and pour over chocolate chips. Stir until smooth to make a ganache.
6. Spread the chocolate ganache over the pie and sprinkle extra coconut on top.
7. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
