Rich, gooey chocolate bars layered with buttery caramel and a perfect salty finish 😍

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

1 cup soft caramel candies or thick caramel sauce

Flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.

3. Whisk in the egg and vanilla extract.

4. Add flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until a thick batter forms.

5. Spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

6. Sprinkle half of the chocolate evenly over the batter.

7. Gently spread the caramel layer over the chocolate.

8. Add remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the chocolate.

9. Bake for 28–30 minutes until set but still soft in the center.

10. Cool completely, then sprinkle with flaky sea salt before slicing into bars.

Pro Tip:
