Ingredients:
* 1 lb ground beef
* 1 small onion, diced
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1½ cups marinara or pasta sauce
* 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
* 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
* 1 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
* ½ cup sour cream
* 2 large eggs
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 tsp baking powder
* ½ tsp salt
* ½ tsp black pepper
* 1 tbsp olive oil
* Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, sauté onions and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
3. Stir in marinara sauce and let simmer for 5–7 minutes. Remove from heat.
4. In a bowl, mix together ricotta (or cottage cheese), sour cream, and eggs. Set aside.
5. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
6. Layer the bottom of the dish with the flour mixture, spreading evenly—it will rise like a crust during baking.
7. Spoon the cheese and egg mixture over the flour base.
8. Add the meat sauce on top, spreading evenly.
9. Top with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
10. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
11. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
